engine noise

I have an 01' Excursion V10, when towing up big hills the engine makes a very high pitched noise. Should this be something to be concerned about?

Could be belt slippage or it could be the tranny. Does it do it at any other time?

It doesn't sound like a belt squeeking, it is very very high pitched when the engin is working hard. I don't hear it any other time.

Could be a number of things. One of the main bearings, water pump, power steering pump, transmission bearing.
