Vacuum modulator
How do I tell which modulator is in my tranny? I went to buy a new one and I had my choice of 3 different single diaphagm and 1 double diaphragm. There were colored stripes on the singles. Mine is just rusty. The tranny is a C6 from an 88 E250 or E350. It is a heavy duty tranny with higher stall convertor.

The difference between modulators are the spring tensions on the diaphragm. I use to have a list of the spring rates on the different units but I can't find it. I will say that I see the purple and black band mod. in trucks the most. There is a screw adjustment in all of them to make minor shift feel changes. I've found you can install any one of them and the trans will normally work fine.
