Tranny Noise
I have a Mazda 5 speed that I just put in about 6,000 miles ago and it just has a sound to it at a curtain rpm I can go to about 2700 rpm's in 2nd and let off when it gets to about 2200 it will make a real bad noise and will quit after about 2000 rpm's is something wrong or is that normal for the Mazda 5 speed???

The Mazda 5spd, plain and simple, is a piece of junk. I had mine replaced 10,000 miles ago and from day one while driving the transmission had sort of a wooshing sound to it. The tranny guys said it was just the bearings and they all do that, now the syncros aren't matching the gears correctly and i get gear clash. When i finally rebuild the NP435 it'll swapped in, in a heart beat, and as for the tranny, i'm not even going to try and sell it, i'll just dump it off in front of my local ford dealership. Thank you ford for using such a POS tranny!
