Well,I finally did it.I went ahead and got my DP Tuner after all this time 'cuz I decided that I could probably use a tad bit better mileage and I'm spending WAYYyyy too much time in the lower gears when pulling my 9,000# trailer.Got the Pillar pod setup with the Auto-meter gauges ($$$) last thursday and installed my brandnew F-6 chip today. I will say that it was an interesting process. With the new puppy looking anxiously on,I told him we'd go to the dawg park when thru,I assembled the equipment and it took about 1/2 hour to find a 7mm and a 5.5mm socket and I never did find my little 1/4,or whatever, ratchett and I did find my deep-set 10mm.Looked under the hood ,and sure, you can just reach right in and unbolt that 10mm on the harness, which just happens to be under the fuse box...Anyway it went the same way for the rest of the project and I got all thru, double checked the box and found an extra cable and another page of instructions for the USB cable that makes it possible to download new tunes if you want them..OOppss,out came everything, got bloody at all the same places,re-installed the cables and got everything back with no problems, except for that durn 10mm bolt and the fact that I managed to catch a fingertip when I was slipping the cable end for the switch thru the dash..
I started it up,forgetting that it has a no-start ,opppss, and after I took care of that it runs great.. The puppy is also very happy 'cuz after all that,3 hours,he got to go to the park..
Now all I have to do is find out what the temp ranges are for the EGT and tranny are and where to keep the boost below. They put the pyro after the turbo.
Bigdog, you really should have them relocate the thermocouple to the DS exhaust manifold..You have much more accurate temp info in that location..If they won't do it, you can do it yourself...it's very easy to do..
Congrats on coming over to the dark (but much more fun) side..
