C6 shifting problem
86 F350 cc DRW...Shift good and strong, no slipping. I tow a 7000 lb trailer. Once in a while when accelerating, the trans will kick down to either second or first depending on the speed, and then it won't shift back. It gets stuck in the gear it shifted down to until I manually shift into the gear it is in, then back. Then it will shift normally again.
This has happened a couple of times, so I had the trans serviced, but it still did it. On a 400 mile run towing in the mountains, it did it maybe three times. Any suggestions?

C6 shifting problem
That sounds like the typically syptoms of when a vac. modulator has gone bad. It cost about $15 and takes about 15 min. to change. You might also check to see if the hose has fallen off of it.
