Unhappy Fuel delivery problems!

I dug a little bit through the forums, but could not find anything that was relevant.

I have a 1984 F250 with the 460 V8, and twin factory fuel tanks.

The problem is this, I'm not getting gas to the motor, I've pulled the line behind the carb. filter, cranked it, no gas, pulled the line behind the filter that sits right above the frame rail inside the engine bay, cranked it, no gas. The pump(s) is electric, and I can hear it continue running for approximately 3 seconds, then it shuts off after I release the key. I'm not sure where the problem is, I'm not sure if the tank switcher could be plugged, but it does not get gas to the front of the rig, and I can't see any more filters inline, I can't get gas from either tank, both are over 1/2 full, anybody able to help?

electric fuel pumps generally are located in the tank have you tried switching tanks to see if you get fuel if that doesn't work pull a line off the back side of the selector switch.

Did this problwem just start or has the truck been sitting?
this may get more response in the bigblock forums than here.

Your truck has a special fuel system with fuel pumps in both tanks. They power the fuel pumps when you are cranking it through the starter relay, but then after the engine starts, the fuel pumps are powered by a relay that is triggered by a oil pressure switch.

I believe the relay is over by the brake booster. Also see if you can find the oil pressure switch that triggers the relay. Your problem is going to be in this part of the circuit.

If you are getting desperate and need the truck running, you can hot wire the pumps through a switch till you get it figured out.

The fuel pump was originally a mechanical one according to a mechanic, and it's been replaced by an on-frame pump, which does work, I'm wondering if the problem is the tank selector, it's electric, and I'm wondering if that lovely ethanol could have jammed it halfway between tanks, and I'm simply recirculating fuel between the two tanks.
