Alrighty...... I just purchased a 1989 F-250 4X4 351w 5spd OD (Manual Locking Hubs if that helps) full size pick-up and i have no clue where I can go for information on what tranny/transfer case i have.
I just need to know the make/model so i know what im dealing with quality wise..... I believe both are factory stock items.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!!
PS: What type tranny lube is best? Years ago i had a 4 spd manual and used 90w but i was told recently that the lube would be different for a 5 spd OD.
Your truck will have a BW 1356 transfer case. Somebody else will be able to tell about the tranny it is either a Mazda 5spd or a ZF 5spd. The ZF is the better of the two, and I am not sure that the mazda was even used in F-250's. As for lube both the tranny and -case use ATF.
