So I have the intake manifold off and everything else off, except the exhaust manifold, but it is disconnected at the y-pipe.
Does the exhaust manifold need to come off?
Also, on the engine mount, which bolts do I remove? The connection from engine mount to frame, or the bolt going thru the mount, or the mount "cradle" to the engine block?
And when removing it, I assume just pull it a couple inches away from tranny and then start moving back and up?
The exhaust manifolds shouldn't have to come off. I unbolted my engine mounts at the crossthru bolt, then going back in had to unbolt from the block. Of course after I finally broke down and unbolted the throttle body I might could have skipped that step. Put a jack under your tranny and go as far up as you can with it then you should be able to slide the motor far enough forward to uncouple from the tranny. there should be plenty of room to raise it straight up. Hope this helps, its not really that hard of a job but you must have patience because it was tedious for me. When you get frustrated go sit down have a beer and chill.(which is my philosophy for everything) Later Whit
I work on it for a few hours every few days and end up getting frustrated and figure screw it I will sell it for parts and find another truck. But then I calm down and try it again.
