Gauges

Alright so my problem is my guages will occasionally decide to quit on me. They usually work but every now and then they will all stop reading anything. Usually by the next time I start the truck they will be working again. I just put a rebuilt engine in so I want to be able to keep an eye on oil pressure and temp. What could be causing this? The truck is a 1970 F-100 with a 302 if that is imprtant.

On my truck, it's a 77 but anyway, sometimes my gauges or radio won't work and I have to reach down and wiggle the key. After wiggling the key everything comes on. So it may be a small issue. Just a suggestion and my .02.

I agree with frankestiened_67. Check your wiring. it sounds like you have an intermittent ground-out or something. since its your whole guage cluster, id suggest checking your fuses to make sure they area all nice and tight, and your connections behind the guage cluster and at the wiring harness. something may be bouncing loose.

I second that. That was also the culprit for my 72'.
