i just picked up my paint tues. and i have been told you can just take and aerosal can and clear over the paint. so what would be a good clear coat? or are they all about hte same? they had some duplicolor for like $12, and wally world has some for $1. kinda looking for a good quality, but somewhat cheap clear.
i have the blue paint code ke. i was going to spray over a gray primer, but was curious to see if it will blend good, or should i have the same color as the factory paint? what is the factory base color?
thanks D
Not sure what you are really asking here. Are you painting the clear over the primer or the blue over the primer then clearing? Are you asking if the gray primer is what Ford used originally under your blue? KE for a 95 Ford Truck comes up as Lapis Poly, code number 4506 from PPG. As for the cost of clear spray bombs and their quality, remember one thing, you get what you pay for. Not saying you have to use the most expensive stuff, but I def would stay away from the cheap $1 wally world crap. But you will not be able to match the original clear with a clear out of a spray bomb on the exterior of the body.
primer, blue, clear. just wondering if the grey primer then the blue will not blend good with oe paint. also wondering if there are any good clear coat brands or any to stay away from, or anything like that.
thanks
