question for the axle experts!
guys, I have to replace the u-joints on a set of closed knuckle axleshafts. however, I notice that the u-joints are held in place with these "caps" that say 'spicer'. How the heck do you knock out the joint? normally on a driveshaft, you take out a clip then beat it out. I have no idea how to do this type. I need some advice before i beat the **ll out it.
second, can i use regular u-joints as replacements or do I need special joints?

Some u-joints use a C clip on the inside end of the bearing cap.Could this be the case?Also,if possible it's best to press the caps in.You can use a simple bench vise with sockets to do this.Hope this helps.
