I have found a crossmember already it wasnt even hard to do, so lots of people are still doing the swap! i never said i would run the stock springs or brakes so stop putting my truck together for me, ok. There are lots of places that will tell you if you want to save money and still have power brakes and steering go with a stock mustang II suspention swap but upgrade the brakes and the crossmember is a given. i knew from the beginning it wouldnt fit and i would have to get a after market one thats no problem still cheaper than paying 2000 bucks for a chromed out suspention i dont need! Also your saying all this trash on mustang II swaps but there are bad things to list about every type of swap out there even the stock suspention and no power brakes and steering is much more unsafe! Sorry, Another thing i dont plan on racing my classic custom so i dont need racing brakes and suspention. Thank you for your input but i was really looking more for someone that has already done the build and could give me tips like MERC456 has done.
Wow what a (fill in the blank). Just for the record I haven't died yet but did come close.
Nordvik72, Have fun with your install, I have no idea if the co. I bought the wider cross member is in business or not, that was over twenty years ago. Ford did install a 302/c4 in the Must 11. So the stamped arms are just fine. It's kind of funny one person was/is a jeweler and the other was a Senior designer for Ford for over 30 yrs and one of his projects was packaging the 302 in the Must 11. Sorry to have brought our dislike for each other into your thread. As luck would have it we both have the same first name.
just a question? why not use the 03-06 crown vic suspension. the track with works as dos the disc brakes, also has a power rack. and it is a bolt in swap for the most part. and you can get them from $250 to 600. just sounds like a faster better swap to me. but just a question/ good luck on your truck and have lost of fun with it thats why we own thesis things!!
Obviously you knew everything you needed to know before you asked, so
No im still looking for a steering column but i guess ill take the advise from the guy that said just to get a new one from ididit. AXracer I do admire your General knowledge of these trucks and i dont want to take away from anything that your saying because you could be right. There is a downfall to all different types of swaps and i will keep what you are saying in mind belive me! This is a project for me and its also a learning process so i thank you for giving me this information. I am going a little against the grain with my build but i promise i have not cut into anything original and its all going for sale to those guys its so important to.
As for frankensteined_67 i never heard of such a swap done before but ill look into it, thanks.

All I'm trying to do is save you and your project from yourself. There are reasons that certain roads are less traveled, quite often it's because others have ventured down them before and found that it was a dead end or there was a much easier, cheaper and better route to the same place. You have not looked at my galleries if you think I am a purist or restorationist. that is far from the case, heck, my truck even wears a bow tie and my steering box and other parts speak Japanese! Some day (sooner than later) the whole front end will be asking for an afternoon tea break.
No problem here, but try to keep an open mind. You are new on here, some of these topics have been beaten to death every couple months. Once you hit 25 posts the search, PM and other functions will open up to you as well. Meanwhile you can also (and many say better) search by using google and putting www.ford-trucks.com in as where to search.
By the way my truck has an Ididit paintable tilt collumn. I got it from Mid Fifty.
Sweet man ill take your advice. I did check out your Gallery and was wondering if you want to sell me a set of your reverse hood hinges?
I'm still working on them, I have a couple other ideas I want to try, then I'll perfect the ones that work best. I'm extremely fussy (****) about details and elegance of operation (comes from designing and crafting fine jewelry for 30 years, or maybe it was the other way around???) so if I can't make it work better/easier than anything else out there, it won't see light of day. Stay tuned...

I am doing this same thing on my 55 I baught the whole front end just like you, paid about the same, the only thing that bothered my was nothing was usable exept the arms , and spindles, I had to buy new bushings new ball joints new rack and pinion new rotors/barake, coilovers new crossmember from hiedts new everythin , was it cheaper probly not much , and I must say I am 100% confident that this setup will hold up just as good as aftermarket unless your gonna be using your truck to haul scrap metal and wiegh it down, your truck will probly never see any added wieght...I say keep going it will be an awsome setup . Looking at some of the aftermarket MII'S look dinky to me
