Installing a factory trailer brake controller

I want to know if my truck didn't come with the factory trailer brakes what all am I going to have to add/buy/install to get it in there? I just like the factory look I know I could save money by going with an aftermarket option.

Thanks.

The factory brake controller, also known as Tow Command, was an option from '05 on. Besides the control unit that goes into the dash, you have to change the master brake cylinder, and I believe have the dealer program the computer to recognize the install.

Quite expensive versus going with an aftermarket brake controller.

Good luck

I would not recommend buying the truck without it. I would have them put it in at one cost if you if they want to sell the truck. It is a great option to have and so much better in my option then a aftermarket unit.

The TBC integrates with the ABS system and tow/haul mode pretty effectively.
