There are quality issues to watch when you shop, the big three are replaceable bulbs, glass lenses and SS housings. Your not going to find lamps that support bulbs over 55watt in that small of a housing so optic quality will be a biggie.
I like PIAA, but KC and Hella both make great lamps. Procomp has a couple of nice options as well.
Huh? I thought the rectangular Hella's were the fog/driving lights?
Anyway, maybe I can cut out the plastic divider to allow a larger light? I wonder if this would create any issues?
I looked at your gallery and all I saw was a driving or fog type light not running/clearance type lamps. There are combo lamps that build in a driving and fog pattern in one housing and two bulbs, but I was calling it driving/fog because the difference is in the light pattern and not so much the housing.
You need to leave enough of the plastic so it has structural integrity, but you can build a bracket to supplement it if needed. However, if that picture is Hella lamps, you have decent optics. I'd take a look at the wiring and make sure they used a relay and at least 14ga wire from the battery. If they used really small wire, and/or no relay then it's likely you have a voltage drop that you need to deal with before replacing the lamps. You can also try pulling the bulbs and searching for a higher wattage bulb.
Okay- I understand. I'll check the wires: I found something interesting: the Hellas FF75. The dimensions seem to be ok for the space i have. I think the fog/driving I have are similar to the PIAA 1400 Series.
