It's fairly common for the A4LD to leak from the front seal. Mine has done it twice under heavy loads (overheating the transmission). Make sure you are getting good flow through the transmission cooler (maybe need a heavier duty cooler). From what I understand, the front seal isn't too hard to change, as long as you don't mess with the pump.
