fast idle geeze

i have a 1997 f250 4x4 5.8 starts fine then starts to idle down but goes up and stays at 1500 rpm or more . replaced idle air control valve @ $60.00 and didnt change a thing.so would anyone know what is telling the machine to increase idle. i did replace some old vaccuum hoses and that didnt help either. i cant figure it out please give me your suggestions thank u much

Try pulling the codes, if no codes then replacement of the TPS may be warranted. Also, check the vacuum reservoir cans for holes in them as well. As well as the brake booster.
