Need rebuild advice for 1995 7.5l EFI

Hello all! New to this forum but glad I found it. I have a 1995 F-350 4x4 7.5l EFI crew with 165,000 miles in need of a rebuild as it's getting a little tired these days. I'm going to throw on underdrive pulleys, headers, k&n, BBK throttle body. Looking for advice on what I can do to clean up under the hood after I pull the engine for rebuild on eliminating all the smog crap. Currently the cat is long gone (what an improvement that made). Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure if ridding the smog pump, etc. will effect the computer as I'm trying to stay away from check engine lights as a result. Any ideas on cam selection, head work or any other HP improvents also welcome.

Thanks, and look forward to contributing to other posts in the future.

Will ad some pics of my truck soon as I'm pretty proud of my FORD!

I am in the process of doing exactly what you are doing to my 96 460. I put on the UDP before i tore engine a part and dynoed it they where worth 20hp and 54tq. i was in the prodess of the header install when i decided to do the rebuild. I went with a comp 34-255-5 cam, ported the upper and lower intake and heads. I have a thread running in the 87-97 forum called (upgrades whatcha think) check it out i will be dynoing all my progess once i get going again.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out. Are you keeping all your smog stuff?

I don't know about pulling the emissions stuff, seems like it would confuse the computer. I have been told that getting the compression to about 9 to 1, adding headers/3" or bigger exhaust, porting the heads and using the right cam can make a big difference, but still play nice with the stock EFI. Thats what I'm doing anyway. I had an open element K&N on my 92, it made a tiny difference in power but was loud enough that I went back to the stock airbox with K&N drop in. Talk to Scotty (the "Mad Porter" here) for advice, I have one of his cams waititng to go in my truck, if I can ever find the time...
