Who reads codes now?

99 Expy 5.4,
Ahhh, My local Autozone would let me use tool to read codes. Now they tell they cant...cuz of some lawsuit? Anyways I ask them for advice. They said AAMCO will, but you need an appointment. I just need a simple code read...takes 2 seconds! Why do they make it so hard these days. Anyone know local Sacramento shops that can do this free? Thanks....Dean

If you want to avoid these issues,go buy yourself a simple code reader. Harbor Freight sells a cheap one for around $40 that'll read and clear the codes.

it would not hurt to check the tle at walmart.some of there shops will and some wont.it is hit and miss.it is up to the managers discretion if they do or not.

I read my own codes. I have a SCAN GAUGE II and a cheap hand held code reader.
