There have been several theads on customizing emblems. You can use the search feature to find the threads. I entered "Emblems" and found these threads (and more).
someone was recently talking about this, said it was pretty easy to just remove them with a hair dryer.
My boss removed his from his dakota a few years back, he took acetone on a rag and just held it to the sticker, i guess the fumes broke the glue, but i don't think i like that idea at all.
My son "blacked" his emblems out with acetone and rubbing the emblem, it took him some elbow grease, but they look nice. Vapors alone shouldn't weaken the glue holding the emblem on.
I began using 50 lb. test braided fishing line to remove them then ended up finishing with a long, flexible fillet knife because the serrated edge worked much faster than the fishing line. I sanded the chrome with 220 grit paper then primed and pained flat black with Duplicolor rattle cans. Applied 3M emblem/moulding adhesive tape to the back and trimmed to fit. I left the Lariat in red because I liked the accent it gives.
