Picked up an 08 250 SD CC 4x4 this week. Nice truck, but found some weird stuff with it. It's an XLT with leather, power, and 4x4 off-road package. The sticker said chrome grill and bumpers, fog lights, and floor mats among other things. The truck has color matched grill and bumpers, no mats, no fog lights.

The only trucks I've seen around here with the matched g & b are FX4. When I questioned the salesman about this he said it was an FX4, yet nowhere does it say it is an FX4. They ordered the fog lights and mats that were supposed to be with it, but said the bumpers and grill were part of the FX4 package. Do they break up packages ? When I went to install the lights I found the the harness had been cut, I would guess they were stolen. Oh well, thanks for letting me vent.

You should go back to them with the original window sticker and make them fix that stuff. The FX4 package is not related to bumpers and stuff, that is "Sport" package related. If it has FX4 and the chrome stuff would be Lariat I believe. Somethings fishy, you should make them print an oasis and show the orignal door sticker and then give you what you paid for. I would not be afraid to rant in the general sales managers office over these two documents, his staff are not playing right in the sandbox IMO. Especially in todays market.....

 

I have the original window sticker, it states chrome g & b as standard for the XLT. Under the options side it list's XLT sport package, I would guess that is where they came from, but even the GM said it was part of the FX4 package, which it doesn't have.

The FX-4 is a stand alone model in the '08-'09 where it used to be an optional package that gave you skid plates, Rancho branded shocks, limited slip differential, and the FX-4 decal on the side of the bed. The GM is wrong as far as your truck goes. Yours is an XLT with the XLT Sport package. From the '08 order guide:

You're welcome anytime...glad to help. To be honest with you, more often than not, they have no idea whatsoever what in the heck they're talking about. They can tell you basic stuff, but a good dealership with a knowledgeable sales staff can tell you most anything you want to know about you're vehicle. Too many times, these salesmen and some GMs move from dealership to dealership like nomads and haven't got a lot of product knowledge.

shortcut1564, make sure you get the right floor mats. They are different for the sport package. First of all they are black and are made of rubber, not carpeted

 

Copy that Caprang, they are of the "all weather" kind.
