New fuel return line

A few weeks ago my brake line blew out because of a pretty rusted line. In taking it out to put in a new one I noticed that the fuel return line was in even worse shape. It had basically crumbled in my hand. I took a section of the fuel line to 2 different auto parts stores this morning and they both wanted to sell me rubber tubing.

Is it ok to use rubber for a fuel return line, or should I only use steel or aluminum lines? Sections of the current fuel return line are rubber, but are only used as connections for 2 aluminum lines.

On your 93 there are no rubber lines, supply or return.
No the rubber lines will not work.
Are you sure you are not talking about the vent hose on top of the tank.

I just consulted the manual and it is in fact a VAPOR return line. Is it ok to replace the rusted metal tubing with a rubber?

I do not see why not as long as they are fuel resistant.
