anyone running performance chips?

This is a scam. You cant get an additional 150 hp out of these motors. They arent like diesels. You can maybe get 50 extra if you get custom tunes and a cold air intake. As far as 25 mpg that is BS too. Programmers will only give you maybe a mile or two. That is about it. I would stay away and if your looking for one talk to mike from 5 star tuning and he could hook you up with a nice SCT X3

they fool the PCM into thinking the incoming air charge is cold...about 60F. This causes the PCM to enrich the A/F mixture.

Presto, more power. But at a huge cost to MPG's...if you are lucky. more than likely you will also fry something else.

From what I have heard a chip is something that is hardwired into the computer and there is a switch that you can switch settings while the truck is running. A programmer is one where you plug into your OBD-II port and you have your truck off pick the setting you want adjust any setting if needed. Hit program and turn the key to on but not start and it reprograms your ECM. That is how a programer works but correct me if Im wrong about the chip.
