Another budget fix, Sun Visor

For a living I maintain digital printing presses. One of the things the HP presses use is an adhesive nylon underlayer on the imaging drum. When I last replaced one it took me a couple to get it right so I had a couple partial underlayers left that were too good to throw away. I thought this might be a good option to cover the old sun visor.
I started by gluing down the cracked patch of vinyl with contact cement.

I then peeled the backing off of the underlayer and stretched it out on the work bench holding the ends down with tape and laid the sun visor onto it.

Then carefully rolled it onto the other side sandwiching the visor in the material.

Then carefully trimmed the material to the edge of the original welting on the visor.

Finished trimming the other side and touched up the hardware with some black paint.

Total time including taking the photos was right at 30 mins. Will see how well this stuff holds up. It stays in a hot, toxic enviroment with vaproized and hot oil on it in its normal service life. My only concern is the UV stability of the product. The stuff is like a very thin ballistic nylon shelf liner.
