Tranny Problem
Hi, i have a 1998 F150 4x4 4.6 auto. Sometimes when i take off hard accelerating, or semi hard accerlerating, my tranny will not shift. today i was doing 30, and pushed the accerlator to the floor, and it just stayed at 30, and truck was stuck at 4,000 rpms, and it would not shift. This problem only occors on hrad and semi hard accerlaeration.

It sounds like you might have a stuck or scored 1-2 shift accumulator. it is common with this trans. if you go to repair it I would also replace the 2-3 shift accumulator also as both of these have been updated by Ford.
