Currently have the truck on 3 wheels and axle stand. How the @*!# do you get the balljoints out of the I beams without removing the beams? Do I not have a big enough hammer? Arghhh!!!
DO you have ball joints, or kingpins? My '90 has ball joints, but my buddy's '86 has kingpins, I can swap both ball joints on one side in less than 3 hours, but kingpins are a whole different animal. And for the ball joint you'll need a ball joint press (looks like a huge C-clamp, but with many different adapters for both ends), not quite sure what kingpins take tho...

Balljoints, and I'm conceding that I'm gonna have to get the beams off to sort it.
i used a mallet and a 1/2" brass rod to pound em out and the mallet to pound em back in. Their a pain in the rear unless ya wanna take the arms off and have em pressed off and on.
They make a "C"-type clamp that has adapters to press out the jouints and then you reverse the adapter to press them back in. It is not easy, but it is simpler than beating them out and in. You should be able to rent one at a good rental shop, Mike
you can also use AutoZones lone a tool program. You pay for the tool, and if you break it, no problem they have it warrantied. Once you are done, you give it back, and they give you the same amount you paid back.
that a great site even for the advanced do it your selfer,i bookmarked it for future reference.ive got the same style of remover he has.was the best 100 bucks i spent.like i said it's good for removing ball joints as well.alot quicker than the vice and socket method.
