Hi to all the Ford Escape owners. My name is Christina and I am the proud owner of a 2009 Ford Escape. It's a beautiful blue and only a 4-cylinder. I bought it back in September. Just took it on it's first road trip to Texas. I live in Virginia with my hubby, Ryan and beautiful little girl, Makenzie. We have to furry kids, Quincy and Dixie, both doxie mixes. We have been stationed at Langley AFB for 2 yrs now. I want to go back to Texas where I am originally from. I hope to make friends with fellow Escape owners and get advice also.
Welcome to the forum. The chapters are a great place to talk to those in your region and get advice and ask questions as well as the vehicle-specific forums.
Hi Christina. I was at Langley for about a year and can't think of anything I liked about it or the local area. That aside, I do like the Escape. Mine is that white suede that looks white until I park next to a WHITE vehicle.

Yeah, I am so not liking it here at all. We have been here 2 years and I can't stand it. I love my Escape, I did all the research as which would be better a car or the Escape. I chose my Escape cuz gets gas mileage just like a car. I forget what shade of blue I have. I like that color you are talking about.
Welcome! How's your mileage with the 4 cyl.? How about power and acceleration? I've been thinking about trading in my '04 V6 for a manual 4 cyl. for better mileage.

I get around 21-23 in the city and about 28/29 on the highway. I have an automatic. I hope to drop a k&n air filter in one day to add to the better mileage. I am also hoping to put a hitch receiver on so that I can a hitch cargo hauler and a hitch bike rack, since my 4 cylinder isn't meant to tow alot. As much as my hubby is a Chevy person, he does think that it has power for a 4 cylinder. And he likes the back window that opens, lol.
Hello to all and welcome. I have F-250 And 56 F100 and while not officially an Escape we just purchased an 09 Tribute which is made on the same assembly line along with the Escape and Mercury Mariner with just a few cosmetic differences. It's only got about 350 miles right now but we plan on a vacation trip to the Tenseness & North Carolina mountains next month so I will see how it performs there. I have noticed with the six speed automatic the RPMs were about 1800 while crusing around 70 mph. This should help the longevity of a good engine!
