can someone please help
hi there guys i recently bought a 68 ford f100 2wd with a 360 4spd and i was driving it down the road today when i heard a metalic ringing noise coming from the rear i checked it out and theres a circular metal plate between the yoke and differential which is loose can someone tell me what this is and how i can fix it anything will be helpfull

The part I think you are refering to is just a dust seal and it is just tapped into place. If you can't slide it back and get it to stay maybe some silcone or even a little JB weld would hold it. Don't get any on the seal.
