Looks like MAYBE an M-60... I can't place the aircraft, which is a helo. But it isn't a UH-1B or any variant of it. Door is on the wrong side for one, bubble window doesn't match. H-46 or H-47 is my best guess, possibly a Jolly Green Giant.
The door gun in the previous picture is a Russian "PKM" 7.62X54, same caliber as the ol trusty M60. I loved that machinegun (M60), got many a flight hour behind that gun.
Its mounted in the door of a Russian Mi-17, pictured below. Yea it's a cool gig!
so ches....
get that car fixed?
and i plan on hittin your house sunday to work on the motor... i could ask for a day or two off after wensday (new schedule starts then)if that would be better
also do you want me to bring the motor lift? and how are we going to go about gettin this thing shipped off? i figure if we're gonna be messin with it anyway lets get it out of your life for a week or so {while i have the money to spend at a machine shop...}
No wonder I couldn't place it - Geez Louise! Isn't that the one they call a "HIP" as opposed to "HIND" helicopter? It must have been a spoil of war...
On shipping engines, usually you see engines supported on wood blocks strapped to pallets. If you can (Ummmm...) "LIBERATE" a pallet somewhere and some 4X4 blocks that might be the way to go. Dunno where you might come by a set of banding tools and strap.
"Hip' is correct, the "Hind" Mi-24 Russian version of our Apache AH-64 attack helo. The Hip is my current work platform, a little slow compaired to Blackhawk.
But its pretty tuff and reliable, just what I need over here.
Ha there tuff guy, remember that surgery you just got? Better to be smarter than stronger, get some help, we don't need you going back under the blade.
Good call Rich. I remember what it felt like when I had my Hernia in 84', that #%^! hurt.... I got me a good score on Craigslist just an hour or so ago. Been working on the ol' boat abit and got me a plastic drop in Live Well. best $50 I've put into that boat. Bass Pro has the same well for $239.99.
KOOOOLLL MAN. Sure would be nice to play again. Augest beats the he77 out of October, and that when you left last year???
Ka'Bluey is running great, can't get in it to drive it now. I pinched a Siatic nerve in my left hip, and bearly walking. Been on druhs since wednesday, supposed to work tomorrow, gonna see what happens. I don't want to burn up all my vacation time not walking.... This sucks.
