No V8, 1486 is about the same as 1466 just newer, 437cu in turbo 6 cyl. Cab with AC. I spent enough years sweating my a$$ off, choking on dust while making round bales to have earned a tractor with AC.

I could've swore that I saw an article in Diesel Power sayin that the 1486 and 1466 are the same except the 86 used the V8, any idea which one I'm thinkin of?

Nope, now I got it, it was the 1468 not 1486! The 1468 used an International 548 cubic inch truck V8. Sounds pretty sweet but some people said the 1466 still pulled better with its inline 6

Thanks Nick. We make about 500 round bales a year - 6'X5' - 1500 lbs - so it's kind of my "summertime office".

Yup, that's it. The 6 cyl certainly has plenty of grunt.

It would still be kinda neat to have around, but as I read on I find that they only made 2600 of them so my chances of ever havin one are lookin slim...

Yea, the only 1468 V8s I've seen have been models on a shelf but they do look pretty cool.
And Nick, I have seen a flathead V8 Ford 8N. I belive I read that a company in Nebraska made the kits to convert an 8N to the V8 back when Ford was still selling new 8Ns.

As it happens, I also have a WD 45. So I'm good.
When I first started farming I had two AC WDs.
