DP tuner...WOW
just installed my dp tuner. took it out and tried it. it is the greatest thing next to sliced bread. does anybody have any thoughts on 80 tow i have,60tow,80econ,120race,decel,and drive thru thinking about 80 tow??

Glad you like it. I have the 80t but usually use the 60 tow. Not much difference in the tunes. Welcome to the club.

it a lot different the the edge. does not sound as loud and rasphy with this tuner. kinda nice how it down shifts sooner then before. when in 60tow with no load it does seem to hold a gear longer before shifting. is that normal. have not pulled a load yet but will this week end.

It's a tow tune, so it will probably hold gear longer assuming you're dragging a load. Also, from what I understand, the 80 tow is for light loads. The Hp goes down as the intended load goes up to keep the EGTs down...

one more question about the tuner. i have noticed that is down shifts on 80econ and 120.is this normal? does not bother me just not sure if this is right?

In 80e my truck will down shift at 40 MPH, then the TC will unlock at 20 MPG. I have 4:10 gears so it would make a difference if you have 3:73 gears.

Jason, this is just another we converted. How many times have we done this? It is good to know that guys like Josh have enough sence to understand that we done this with a lot of different tuners and we know who to use for tunes for the 7.3.

I don't know the difference in the tunes, but, if you get TW to tune that chip you have, I think you will like it much more. I talk about DP because thats what I have, some on here have TW tunes and love them. Where is Joe when you need him???
