HI guys i have a 2009 F350 DRW 6.4L Crew cab i was wondering is there any warrenty safe power upgrades i can do to the truck without risking a warrenty void
Best thing to do is to talk with your servicing dealer. The easy answer is no. Magnuson-Moss has been tossed back & forth a few times which basically states that if the aftermarket part made the Ford part fail, then it's void. If it has nothing to do with the particular problem at hand, then it should be good to go. For example; you have a bad radiator and you have an aftermarket exhaust system on the truck. Obviously, the exhaust had nothing to do with the radiator, so you're ok. If you have ,say, an aftermarket CIA and your turbo fails because the CIA let in too much dirt, then you're screwed. Hope this helps a little....
The easy answer and the answer Ford will give you is not to perform any performance upgrades to the truck. There are plenty of options out there if warranty is not a concern to you but Ford will not back your warranty with any of them. The bottom of your muffler even has a warning message on it. Literally. There was a dealer bulletin that recently came out claiming even simple things like aftermarket air filter kits are causing problems.
Some dealers install performance mods so talk to them about it. If they agree to any of them be sure to get it in writing.
