I was thinking about putting on a 6 inch skyjacker lift with all new springs. But i was just wondering if the drive shafts would be fine or would they have to be lengthened.
Which truck are you lifting?
six inches is about the threshold for driveshaft limits as well as brake lines etc.
For the most part the 6 inch kit does not require driveshaft mods to complete.
That being said, the front driveline angle and u-joint may get a little tight at full suspension extension, but the length should be fine.
You will have to address the brake lines, as these will become a little short. You dont want to tear them or damage them during suspension cycles.
This much heigth will also require some steering correction.
That stock drag link will be rather short, and will be working in a pretty extreme angle.
Well i was already plan on getting some skyjacker stainless steel brake lines, and as for the drag link the guy i am getting the system from has the drop drag link and pit man arm so i should be fine with that. But the only thing i was worried about is the drive shafts being to short.
The rear driveshaft will have no problems, and since you are using stuck shock locations, and the factory style steering, then you wont ever extend the driver side suspension far enough to pop the driveshaft out. You should be fine as far as length, however, depending on which style and size u joints you have, you may have some pretty severe angles at full extension.
Dont hesitate to install your lift, these issues are minor issues, and should not hold you back from installing your lift.
