High Perf. C6 ready!

Hey guys,

Well, I finally got to the next stage of my tired 390 to a high perf. 300 swap: My trans is back, complete with some unreal modifications! I found a rebuilder who works out of his shop/garage, who's been doing c6's since the seventies, and has one he built in his 10 second mustang. Anyway, this is what he did:

6. spent a friggin hour plus on that ugly ugly ugly pan of yours... lol it was really bad..pounded out all the dents and then glass beaded it inside out.. had a lot of rust. then painted the pan with Duplicolor Cast Coat Iron color..<o

7. installed E4OD sprag setup.. which includes new race, torrington bearing and new late style clutch/roller set<o

8. changed your servo ratio arm from a J arm to an E arm.. different letter arms multiply the output of the servo at different ratios.. the E arm is very close to the F arm that Ford put in the Cobrajet C6's. <o

9. new adjustable modulator and new modulator hose..

And, I got a new deep dish cast aluminum pan from Summit! I'm hoping to start swapping it out within a couple of weeks. Waiting on the exhaust kit, and the carb. Let me know what you think.

great price c6 build

I didn't want to go with all the fancy build up stuff with the trans. But my mechanic now builds out of his garage, and I think he was bored, because he did most of the stuff without charging me extra. He used to own a shop and has 30 years experience. I paid $720, for the build and torque converter, and I paid for the Transgo shift kit, and the R server. I think I got a pretty good deal, and from what I have read it should increase the life of the trans. However, he did laugh and say it would shift 'firm' now.

I'm a bit leery, wondering what I've gotten into.

No, don't think I'll dyno it. I'll just drive it a lot, hopefully cross country to Mexico, on a great fishing trip.
I'll be able to tell the difference right away. Now, with the 390 and a 2V carb, it's like driving toyota four banger, just larger...nothing much really there. I expect it to be pretty peppy with the new engine. I'll try to post a video on youtube of the new engine going in for all the people who have helped me on this forum.
