well Ive only had my Icon dual stabilizer setup for about a year and the rubber boots are toast. not alot of room between the shocks and the axle and it seems when turning it just rubs against the axle and they are all ripped and torn.
is my dual stabs setup wrong or?? anyone make a better dust cover?
yea I dont know what I was thinking last night...not the axle..the steering bar. there is barely any room for the boot to move around so every turn just rubs it away
Sorry mine do that too. The boot that came with the bilstien I have doesn't show the damage though. It's the parts near the boot that are doing the damage not a problem with the boot or shock. As the steering is turned, the shock body and rod move closer the linkage.
You could make some plastic parts to cover the adjuster and protect the boot if you want. I don't think it would be that difficult, a peice of ABS, put a flange on it to bolt to the adjuster studs (use new nuts so you don't affect the adjuster) and then sweep it around to look decent.
