First time I serviced an auto transmission I was fortunate enough to have use of a lift. Im standing underneath this truck with every single bolt out of the trans pan (mistake #1) and I am tapping it with a rubber mallet. It wont come loose so I decide to go get another tool and as I walked under the transmission the pan instantly let go. The pan dropped on my head and soaked me from head to toe in hot transmission fluid. I didnt have any other clothes with me so I opted to drive home naked rather than ruin my seats. I sure am glad I didnt get pulled over on the way!!!
I'm gonna have to go with the incident on my Thunderbird.
I was in the process of changing the tranny fluid and didn't bother to follow fluid lines for draining. So I proceeded to remove a cooler that I thought was the tranny cooler.
I was wrong. It was the power steering cooler. Once I started the car up power steering fluid shot as far as 10 feet all over the garage, all over me, all over my dad, and all over my project car.
