Tranny Problems

I have a '95 bronco with a 302 and the e40d tranny. the other day i was driving through a muddy field in 4wd at about 3500 rpm and suddenly lost all forward gears: just acts like its in neutral. I still have reverse. Is it time for a new tranny like im guessing or is there something small it could be ex: linkage?

check linkage, pull codes. check fluid level and make sure its nice and red in color.
