Wanted to know about oiling upgrades for my 460, Its In a 81 f250 4x4. Ive got a larger oil pan,8 qts, and a high volume pump. Ive heard of taking a die grinder to the oil passage were the oil filter mounts and enlarging It, wondering If thats a good upgrade? Also heard of plumbing In a line from the port In the back of the block were the sender would go down to a port by the filter. sending pressurized oil right from the pump to the sender port, supposably suppose to be better for #4 and #5 main bearings. If any body has pics that would be great. Ive already cleaned up the slag In the returns in the lifter valley, any help would be appreciated. Im taking the block to be boiled In a few days and would like to have this done before hand.
I tried searching for this with no luck, Please redirect me If needed.
Thanks In advance.
What you've already done is what I've read people do. Only other thing is a little oil hole drilled from the front cam bearing area through the block to the dizzy shaft hole to lube the bottom of the gear & shaft.
Paul Kane details all the 460 block oil up grades on his site. I know I'm not spelling it right, but, High Flow Dynamics.com I think what it is.
