Much depends on how you intend to use the truck and how wide of a tire you plan to use. A narrow 35" tire will fit with only a 4 inch lift, but a truck that has a bunch of lfex and will see some off road use will require more lift. Wider tires will also require additional lift.
4 to 6 inches will be right. 6 inches will keep the tires out of the fenders though.
