I have the ESOF on my 99 PSD and yesterday, I finished up the ball joints by completing the right side. I was thinking about it today, I and I recall that the large flat washer with the 4 grooves against the hub assembly was NOT there. Just a large flat washer. It is there on the drivers side. Is this right? I have always blamed my ESOF not working right due to old and cracked vaccuum lines so I have just locked the hubs in manually. But now I am questioning that. or maybe assigning some of the blame to the wrong washer being in there. I took them out and kept them on the hub in the same order they came out so that they would go in the same way.
yea I have the order down...It just hit me later that I didn't notice the grooved washer was not there. Now just to locate the PO and smack him for it.

At least you figured that out. You may have your ESOF back.
I hope so. I replaced the steering knickle seal and axel seal while I had it apart and the yellow O-ring too. In the process tho I bent one of the vaccuum nipples on the hub assym. so I need to replace those too.
