Brakes Locking up
I have a 2000 ford ranger that i recently bought. I have never drove it in the rain. yesterday it was raining like hell.. and everytime i would coast to a stop sign ease into the brakes and the whole truck would just jump like you slammed on the brakes not sure whats going on.. today i drove it around without any issues seeing its not raining. Does anyone have any suggestions at what to look at if i took the brakes apart?

Some of the newer non-asbestos brake shoe linings do not like the rain.
All I can suggest is that you pull the drums, clean out any dust and make sure shoes are properly adjusted when you have done that.

My 1999 did the same thing - wet weather braking was not fun at times. I pulled the drums, cleaned everything out real good, readjusted and it would clear up for a while. It escapes me at the moment what shoes I switched to after those wore out, but they were much better and I didn't have the same issues.
