VC Gasket - resuable?

I understand they are reusable?
At what point can you tell they need replacing?

2002 with 76K, covers haven't ever been removed.

Well, I guess when you have a problem with them. Use them over and over.

Rick is right...
If you removing the valve covers, be sure to check the 9 pin connector.. They come loose alot.. We just shim the locking tabs with a 25 cent modified coin...
Also retorque your injector and rockers..

Is there a way to determine if they need replacing, other than waiting to see if they present a "problem"?
Wear indictors, flat spots, whatever? I've just never seen one before.

Well, the VC gasket is also the harness for the injectors and glo plugs. Humm.
