severed line

I was underneath the rear end of leo this morning and i noticed a severed line. now im not a mechanic so bare with my butchery...

It lookes like it attaches to a T fitting that has two smaller lines running into the rear brakes, i think its a brake flud line or something there of. i tried to follow the other end of it and made it about a foot and a half where it mounts to the driver side rear fender. plugs into another splice fitting and goes nowhere...

What is it for?

Where is is supposed to be fed from?

How bad is it that i have been driving around on it for who knows how long?

It has been that way since the truck was new.

It should be keep high to keep dirt and water out of the rear end. It should be held by a clip up on the frame and aimed to the rear.
I will see if I can find a diagram and post it for you.
