pick up bed on a 54

Hi all when bolting down the pick up bed at the rear what goes between the chassi and the rear cross member of the pick up bed?? is it just thick peace's of rubber with a hole in the middle where the bolts go though

Hi, There are kits you can buy, just mounting pads...I've seen them in a hard material and in rubber, different thicknesses. When I put mine back together I used some like that and made some others myself depending on the thickness I needed. I think it's just supposed to dampen the chassis to bed.
I'm sure the experts here can correct me where I'm off, It's still early on the west cost so they might not have had their coffee yet.

i went to lowes and got a sheet of 1/4 thick rubber matting, it came 1ft by 1ft, cut it with tin snips. i'm not sure what it is "actually" used for.
