Not trying to be a smart butt but do you have the e-brake on since you did disconect the driveshaft to do your work. Otherwise, don't know of any reason removing the driveshaft and re-installing would have anything to do with the truck not moving in reverse.
interesting, one does not have anything to do with the other. What about chock blocks? Did you put blocks in front of the wheels to keep the truck from moving?
Well of coarse I have the e brake off and duhh I have nothing blocking the tires. We are stumped also or I wouldn't be asking for help...but we do have common sense.

You might want to check the tone of your replies if you want help here.
If what you are saying is correct, you only replaced the carrier bearing, and re-assembled the drive line, there is absolutely no reason for any difference in transmission operation.
The above replies may seem rediculous to you - but stranger things have happened, and seemingly "duh" responses have solved posters problems.
If you had no problems before, and only removed the drive shaft correctly, replaced the bearing correctly, and correctly reassembled the drive line,Then you trans. problems are a coincidence w/ another problem.
Once again, there is no way to cause your problems with only replacing the carrier bearing.

Since we are not the ones working on your truck and we are only going by your discription of the problem, starting with the obvious simple stuff is always the best standard operating procedure. It stands to reason that getting to the root of the problem is more important than your sarcasm. Sorry I don't have anything else to offer.
If all that commen sence stuff is ok and your trany is full then you gotta bind in that shaft some how be carefull dont force it ,dont go and break it or bend it
I wonder if there's an electrical sensor that has come unplugged during the bearing change, that makes the computer want to put the transmission in drive only.... Might find every electrical wire in the areas that were worked, and check for tightness.
Sorry but I am extremly fustrated, here is the deal, I jacked up the rear end of my truck put it in neutral and the tires go forward but no reverse, I am about to take the driveshaft out for the 5th time and see if the tires move in both directions then if they do then I will check the front drive shaft.
