there are many answeres,,, ford in 1 of thier shop manuals says to run 50 wght.... as gear oil is to thick and it wont oil the chain,,,,
haynes says 140 wght.....
a guy i know runs mobil-1 synthetic,,, 90 wght..... and has for 250,000 plus miles,,,,,which is the way iam gonna go....
hmmm.. see the np205 is gear driven.. so i guess i could run the thicker 90wt in it.. ? I just put a new np205 in my 77' 4x4 and i dont know what kinda lube to use.
If it's a brand spankin' new 205 you should be able to get a manufacturers recommendation. It'll depend on the seal and internal composition as to which oil weight to use. Info I have says 90W gear lube, but I'm sure you could use a multi-vis like 75W-90 or something around that neighborhood.
