so ive been looking at this 2004 xlt diesel ex with 77k miles with leather, DVD, headrest monitors, and 4x4. The dealer is asking like 23 for it which seems really overpriced because they most likely bought it for 10-13k. My wife doesn't want one with over 80k miles and we both know that at 100 diesels are just considered broken in but she wants that extra piece of mind ya know?I'd like a 7.3 but can't find a low mileage one. My father in law can help me win headstuds and egr delete. Does the dealer price sound that far off? Btw, m from southern Cali
Definitely get an OASIS report on it before buying... Personally I would take a 7.3 with twice as many miles as a similar 6.0
Diesels esp with low miles were not that common in So Cal... yeah that price is way high though.. my folks bought an 03 7.3 eddie bower from the dealer a couple years gao with extended warranty and like 30K miles on it and paid under $30K then for it... and the economy was a lot better at the time too

From having lived in Calif when I was in the military I know the cost of things in Calif is high and so is that price. I just bought my 05 Eddie Bauer with 70,000 miles for just under that.
I would strongly suggest if you have the means to look outside your area and find one and get that dealer to come down or buy one somewhere else and take a trip to get it. The Oasis or a car fax will tell you much about a vehicle before you buy or trip.
As I said in another thread, bring in some local ads with trucks comparable to it and I'm sure if they want your business, they'll see it your way.
Back in 2006 a buddy of mine was looking into a car to replace his '89 Suburban. The salesperson at the dealership told him $10K for a Lincoln Mark VIII. I told him to check out the price online and sure enough, it was $7K online. We called the salesperson to confirm the $10K he told us earlier and suddenly the car was $3K cheaper when we mentioned the online price. The moral of the story: shop around and see who is willing to earn your business, honestly atleast....
