Engine coolant temp

Hey guys how are you. This is the first summer I have owened my truck. 03 6.0 with 110,000. I was just wondering what is a good operating temp for the coolant and tranny. This winter the coolant never got over 190 and trans was about 148. Now that the weather has been hitting 70+ i noticed today that the cooland went to 195 and the tranny went to about 158. Do these sound norman. Thanks.

Suggest monitor the temps but I wouldn't be concerned with those temps. You must have real gauges not just the dummy ones in the dash.

I wouldn't start worrying about coolant til I hit 215-220. In all honesty though your going to want an EOT gauge, that's a little more important then ECT.

As far as tranny temps go, on average if your not towing anything expect to see about 100 degrees over ambiant temps. Atleast that's the rule of thumb I was told and it's served me well.
