Yep, it's another fleabay find (ignore the price, you'll only get upset at the expense lol
FORD F 150 PICKUP BODY no reserve on eBay, also Van Pickup Parts, Vans Pickups, Commercial Vehicles, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 24-Apr-09 20:00:00 BST)
Does anyone know the year/generation, and more importantly will the tailgate fit an '80 - '86?

All the 80-96 tailgates will interchange IF you change the hardware around and how it mounts to the truck. Some had metal straps, some had cables, and there were different brackets and bolt sizes. If you have all the mounting stuff there for the original bed, you should be able to mount that stuff to any year tailgate and make it work, and at worst case, have to make a junkyard trip for a odd bracket or so.
Looking at the bed though, I believe it's a 97-up, and I don't think they will work.

try these guys.was looking at their site and thought it was cool.they have fiberglass tailgates.will save you some weight as well
