fuel pump voltage drop
I have a 2000 ford diesel and it flutters and acts as if it is starvin for fuel. I checked the voltage on the pump and I noticed the voltage drops off from 12.5 volts to 7 volts. What causes this?

Are you checking the voltage when the glow plugs are active? This will drop your voltage but not that much... I read about 11 volts when the glow plugs are on, with the engine running.. They stay for a couple of minutes, then the voltage will jump up to 14.3 after they turn off.
