Hey guys. I've replaced the cylinder lock on my 87 twice now. The last time I didn't get the key copied. As the title implies, I lost it.
My question is this: If I force/break the cylinder to get it to the point where I can release the cylinder, will I break anything, other than the lug at the bottom of the cylinder. I can get a new cylinder with a key, either from the salvage yard or ebay.
Thanks
Eric
Virto, to replace the cylinder, you need to turn it to the on position then depress the release. It then slides out. Without the key, I obvisouly can't turn the cylinder. I'm sure I can turn it with a big pair of pliars, but need to know if I'm going to damage anything in the column or will just the lug on the bottom of the cylinder break. If that's it, I could care less as I'm going to replace it anyway.
Thanks
Eric
